Recruitment of Diploma Trainee (Electrical/Civil/Electronics)

The Job Opportunity

POWERGRID is a key player in the power transmissi-on business, entrusted with planning, coordinating, supervising, and controlling the complete Inter-State Transmission System and the operation of national and regional power grids in India. The company operates an extensive network of transmission lines and substations, contributing to about 50% of the total power generated in the country.

Essential Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of Diploma Trainee, candidates must possess a full-time regular three-year diploma in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized Technical Board or Institute. The disciplines and eligibility criteria are as follows:

Electrical (EE): Full-Time Regular Three Years Diploma in Electrical/Electrical (Power)/Electrical and Electronics/Power Systems Engineering/Power Engineering (Electrical) with a minimum of 70% marks.

Civil (CE): Full-Time Regular Three Years Diploma in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 70% marks.

Electronics (EC): Full-Time Regular Three Years Diploma in Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Telecommunication/Electronics & Electrical Communication/Telecommunication Engineering with a minimum of 70% marks.

Region-wise Vacancies

The vacancies for the Diploma Trainee positions are region-specific, distributed across various regions like Northern Region, Eastern Region, Southern Region, Western Region, Odisha Projects, and Corporate Centre. Each region has multiple vacancies in the EE, CE, and EC disciplines.

Selection Process

The selection process comprises a Computer Based Test (CBT) which includes Technical Knowledge Test (TKT) and Supervisory Aptitude Test (SAT). Candidates need to qualify in both parts of the test to move forward in the selection process. Click here to know more.

Compensation and Benefits

Selected candidates will undergo a one-year training period where they will receive a stipend of Rs. 27,500 per month. Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will be absorbed as Junior Engineer Gr-IV (S1) in the Supervisory category with a competitive pay scale.

The compensation package includes Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Perquisites and Allowance, Performance Related Pay, Company Quarters or HRA, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Pension, Leave encashment, Group Insurance, Personal Accident Insurance, and more.
