Short-listing based on GATE Score – BIS Scientist ‘B’ Recruitment 2023

The process commences with evaluating GATE 2021, 2022, or 2023 scores. The candidates are ranked based on their GATE scores, forming a merit list. In case of a tie, the tie-breaker is determined as follows:

Higher Percentile: Priority is given to the candidate with a higher percentile in the concerned GATE paper.

Age Criteria: If the tie persists, the candidate with the higher age is prioritized.

Short-listing based on ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) Score

For candidates in the Agriculture Science discipline, the short-listing is based on ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D.) – 2023 examination scores. The merit list is established according to the marks obtained in this examination. If a tie occurs, similar tie-breaker criteria as in GATE score short-listing are applied.

Personal Interview

Only the shortlisted candidates from both GATE and ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) categories are invited for a Personal Interview. The number of candidates called for the interview is limited, ensuring efficiency and thorough evaluation. The candidates proceed to the interview post successful Document Verification.

Final Merit List

The final merit list is compiled based on the aggregate marks obtained, giving 85% weightage to GATE Score/ ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) – 2023 marks and 15% weightage to the interview marks. In the case of a tie, first, the higher GATE/ ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) score is considered. If tied here too, age becomes the determining factor.
