In short Our content is for learning. Always check critical designs against the relevant IS code and with a licensed engineer. Be respectful in the Community. You own what you post; you let us display it. Downloads are licensed for your own use — please don’t resell or share the files. Pro has no auto-renewal. Refunds follow our 7-day policy.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using thecivilstudies.com you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. The service

TheCivilStudies provides civil-engineering articles and guides, free online calculators, a community Q&A, a job board, paid digital downloads, the Pro membership and custom CAD/design services. We may add, change or remove features at any time.

3. Accounts

  • Give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • One person per account. Accounts and Pro access are personal and may not be shared or resold.
  • We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

4. Community rules

  • Be respectful — no abuse, harassment, hate speech or personal attacks.
  • Post genuine, on-topic engineering questions and answers. No spam, advertising, affiliate links or self-promotion.
  • Only upload content you have the right to share. Do not post copyrighted documents, paid IS-code texts or other people’s personal data.
  • New members’ first posts are reviewed by a moderator. We may edit, hide or remove any content and restrict accounts that break the rules.
  • You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you give TheCivilStudies a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, format and share it on the site and in search results.
  • “Best answer” and “Verified” badges are helpful signals, not guarantees of correctness.

5. Engineering disclaimer

Everything on this site — articles, worked examples, calculators, community answers and downloads — is for education and general guidance. It is not a substitute for a qualified engineer’s judgement. Before using any result in real design or construction, check it against the current Indian Standards and the project’s specifications, and have critical work reviewed by a licensed structural or geotechnical engineer. Calculator outputs depend on the inputs you give and may contain errors.

6. Licence for digital downloads

  • When you buy a download, you get a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for your own study and your own professional work.
  • You may not resell, share, upload, redistribute or publish the files or substantial parts of them, or remove copyright notices or watermarks.
  • Teams and institutions that need multi-user licences can contact us.

7. Pro membership

  • Pro is a one-time payment for a fixed period (1 month or 1 year). It does not renew automatically; we remind you before it expires.
  • Pro includes ad-free browsing, the Pro download library and calculator report export, as described on the Pro page. Library contents may grow or change over time.

8. Payments & refunds

Prices are shown in Indian rupees (₹). Payments are processed securely by Cashfree Payments using UPI, cards, net-banking or wallets. Refunds and cancellations follow our Refund & Cancellation Policy, including the 7-day money-back guarantee on digital downloads and annual Pro plans.

9. Job board

Job listings summarise information from official recruitment notifications and company careers pages. TheCivilStudies is not a recruiter or placement agency, does not process applications and never charges candidates. Dates and eligibility can change — always confirm on the official website before applying. Beware of anyone asking for money in our name.

10. Advertising

The free site is supported by ads served by Ezoic and its partners, including Google. We do not endorse advertised products. See the Privacy Policy for how ad cookies work.

11. Intellectual property & copyright complaints

Site content, design, logos, calculators and downloads belong to TheCivilStudies unless stated otherwise. You may link to our pages and quote short extracts with credit and a link. To report content you believe infringes your copyright, email info@thecivilstudies.com with the page link, proof of ownership and your contact details; we will review and act promptly.

12. Limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, TheCivilStudies is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the site, its content or tools. Our total liability for any paid product or plan is limited to the amount you paid for it.

13. Changes & governing law

We may update these terms; the “Last updated” date shows the current version, and continued use means you accept the changes. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
